Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in an emergency department setting
• Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care appropriate to the patient population
• Assess patient and family readiness to learn, utilize relevant patient education materials, and communicate information to promote continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care outcomes, revise plans of care, and consult appropriate resources for complex or high-risk patients
• Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs while adhering to healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures
• Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care practices while promoting a safe, clean, and secure environment

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
• Familiarity with emergency department workflows and care of patients presenting with complex or acute conditions
