Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery (L/D)An exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor & Delivery (L/D) is available. This position involves providing excellent patient care and support in the Labor & Delivery and Postpartum departments, with potential overflow into Med/Surg as needed.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister care to patients in the Labor & Delivery unit.Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal conditions throughout labor.Assist with and circulate in cesarean sections as necessary.Provide postpartum care for mothers and newborns.Respond to patient needs and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.Maintain accurate patient records using the electronic health record (EHR) system.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery nursing.Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), perinatal fetal monitoring (completed within the last 2 years), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).Registered Nurse (RN) with a relevant nursing degree.Experience circulating in the operating room for L/D is preferred.Unit InformationLabor & Delivery has 6 beds plus 1 triage/ret recovery room.Postpartum unit consists of 12 beds.Patient ratios follow AWHONN standards for Labor & Delivery.Typical patient load in Postpartum is usually 3-4 patients per nurse, with a maximum of 6:1.Work ScheduleThis role requires working night shifts in Labor & Delivery and day shifts in the Postpartum unit with rotating weekend duties.Professional AttributesThe ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional teamwork skills and a commitment to quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.Dress CodeScrubs for Labor & Delivery will be provided by the organization.Personal scrubs may be worn in the Postpartum and GYN areas, as long as they adhere to professional standards.This is an opportunity to be part of a dedicated team that values high-quality patient care and collaborative practice.
