Role: Akamai Engineer (Build & Development)

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid - min. 3 days/week in office)

Role Type: Full-time

Role Summary Implements and builds Akamai configurations for CDN, security and edge based on approved designs, integrating with apps and CI/CD pipelines. Key Responsibilities Configure Akamai properties (origins, caching, rules, headers). Implement WAF, DDoS, bot and API security policies. Develop and maintain Edge Workers / edge logic as needed. Use Akamai APIs / IaC to manage configs and integrate with CI/CD. Work closely with app teams on URL patterns, caching, headers, testing. Support go-lives, deployments, and post-deployment validation. Required Skills 5?8+ years IT; 3+ years hands-on Akamai/CDN/WAF/edge. Strong understanding of web technologies: REST, caching. Scripting/automation experience (e.g., Python, Bash) and CI/CD tools. Solid troubleshooting skills across edge, network and application layers.
