L&D RN Job Summary

Position: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, postpartum, and nursery care.

Perform head-to-toe assessments, reassessments, pain assessments, and develop/revise individualized plans of care.

Administer medications safely according to the five rights and patient condition.

Provide patient/family education and support throughout the care process.

Perform clinical and technical nursing skills within scope of practice.

Maintain a safe environment and ensure accurate, timely documentation.

Collaborate with physicians, care coordination, and interdisciplinary teams.

Provide age-appropriate care and address psychosocial, cultural, and family needs.

Coordinate and supervise patient care as needed.

Maintain required annual competencies, including bedside blood glucose testing.

Minimum 1 year L&D RN experience Required.

Postpartum and nursery experience Required.

ACLS AHA Required.

BLS AHA Required.

NRP Required.

BSN Preferred.

Active Ohio or Compact RN license at submission.

Current AHA certifications required at start.

Resume and skills checklist completed within the past year.
