Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Float Pool Nights -Levindale Hospital

Position Summary
The Float Pool Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a member of Levindale's Staff Resource Pool and provides nursing care across multiple clinical areas based on operational and patient care needs. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Director of Nursing, the Float Pool LPN delivers high-quality, resident-centered care while demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and strong clinical skills in a variety of patient care settings.
Float Pool LPNs support multiple specialty areas throughout the hospital, helping ensure continuity of care and operational excellence across the organization.
Essential Responsibilities
Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care across assigned units.
Conduct ongoing patient assessments and collect relevant clinical data.
Obtain and document patient histories, perform focused assessments, and complete admission documentation according to established policies.
Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
Monitor patient conditions and promptly communicate significant changes to the Registered Nurse and interdisciplinary team.
Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans.
Provide patient and family education regarding treatments, medications, and care plans.
Identify and address patient and family cultural, emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial needs.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members to promote optimal patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and professional development activities.
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability while floating to various units throughout the facility.
Support daily unit operations and assume shift leadership responsibilities as assigned.
Work every other weekend as required.
Qualifications
Education
Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing Program required.
Associate Degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience
Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience required.
Experience in post-acute care, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, long-term care, or behavioral health preferred.
Licensure & Certifications
Current Maryland Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong clinical assessment and observation skills.
Ability to adapt and work effectively across multiple patient care environments.
Knowledge of nursing practices and standards in accordance with the Maryland Nurse Practice Act.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer applications.
Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Pay Range: $27.15 to $42.08 Based On Experience
