Communications Coordinator

Department : Dean, Natural Sciences &Math Salary : 49,400 - 56,200 Description : Coordinates communications activities in support of a universityprogram, including, but not limited to, publications, newsletters,annual reports, web site, and informational and solicitationmaterials. 1. Coordinates various communications projects, to includecompiling, editing, and layout of materials. 2. Works with other departments to research, obtain material andorganize the content of written communications. 3. Provides content for regular updates of the program website. 4. May be responsible for producing regularly recurringcommunications such as annual reports, monthly publications ornewsletters. 5. Provides writing and editing services for other communicationprojects as assigned. 6. Represents the program at conferences and communityevents. 7. Performs other job-related duties as required. Experience will be considered in lieu ofeducation. Education will be considered in lieu ofexperience. MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical andpractical aspects of an analytical, technical or professionaldiscipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professionaldiscipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtainedthrough a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a collegeor university or an equivalent in-depth specialized trainingprogram that is directly related to the type of work beingperformed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directlyjob-related experience. All positions at the University of Houston-System are securitysensitive and will require a criminal history check.
