Board Member

THRIVE ON! is a young, fast-growing organization working across youth development, economic development, real estate, fundraising, and fiscal sponsorship infrastructure, all at once. We don't expect every valuable board member to fit neatly into one lane. If you believe in the mission and bring skill, judgment, or connections we can use, there's a place for you.

Responsibilities: serve as a full, active board member across governance, strategy, and oversight; plug into whichever committee or project best matches your skills as they emerge; bring an outside perspective that helps us catch our own blind spots; open doors in your network — professional, civic, or personal — that help the mission.

Areas you might plug into: Marketing & Communications, Technology & Data, Healthcare, Human Resources, Law, Event Planning, Community Organizing, Higher Education Partnerships.

Qualifications: a genuine belief in youth power and Ulster County's future; professional or life experience you're excited to put to use, even without a named seat; willingness to help us figure out where you fit, rather than needing it defined up front; follow-through — active engagement, not just a name on the letterhead.

The right general board member doesn't need a title to contribute. You're curious about the whole organization, not just one lane, and you're comfortable saying "I don't know exactly where I fit yet — let's figure it out together."

Term: 2 years. Meetings: quarterly board meeting plus a monthly 1-hour committee meeting. Time commitment: approximately 3–5 hours per month.
