Senior Solutions Architect - Thermal Management

Job Description Position Summary Vertiv is seeking a proactive Senior Solutions Architect - Thermal Management to lead the technical positioning, specification, and market adoption of our industry-leading thermal management and liquid cooling solutions. In this high-impact role, you will bridge technical engineering and commercial execution-partnering directly with top consulting engineering firms, hyperscale/colocation clients, and national sales teams to embed Vertiv as the Basis of Design for modern data center applications. Title Senior Solutions Architect - Thermal Management Location Onsite in our Columbus, OH Headquarters Sales Incentive Plan In addition to your base salary, you will be eligible to participate in our Sales Incentive Plan, which is paid monthly. This plan is on an 80/20 split. This commission structure is UNCAPPED. Key Responsibilities Solution Architecture & Specification: Analyze P&IDs and mechanical drawings to design high-density cooling systems (chillers, CDUs, liquid/direct-to-chip) and establish Vertiv as Basis of Design with consulting engineers. Commercial & Account Enablement: Co-lead technical pitches, bid strategies, and Lunch & Learns alongside sales teams for MTDC and Global Strategic Accounts. Market & Product Leadership: Represent Vertiv at trade shows and design reviews, leveraging field intelligence and standards (ASHRAE/OCP) to guide product roadmaps. Qualifications Experience: 3-6+ years of technical sales, application engineering, or consulting engineering experience within critical data center infrastructure or commercial HVAC/hydronic systems. Domain Expertise: Deep technical mastery of data center thermal management, high-density cooling, direct-to-chip architectures, and chilled-water systems. Consultative Influence: Demonstrated track record of navigating consulting engineering workflows, project design cycles, and technical specification processes. Communication & Presentation: Exceptional ability to translate complex thermal/hydronic concepts into compelling, executive-ready presentations. Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical industry experience. Travel Required 10-15% travel (Targeted regional customer design reviews, training/development, key client visits, and select industry events).
