Registered Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy TechnicianPerforms the essential duties and responsibilities of a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT). Ensure the accurate delivery of medications to the appropriate Hospital personnel in a timely fashion under the supervision of a pharmacist. Be responsible for ensuring proper storage of medications as well as maintaining correct medication charges.SHIFT AND SCHEDULEWe have the following shifts available. Please speak with a recruitment specialist to discuss which position works best for you.Full Time: 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM; 7 on 7 off scheduleFull Time: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM; every other weekend, rotating holidays and on-callFull Time: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM; every other weekend, rotating holidays and on-callPRN: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM; every other weekend, rotating holidays and on-callESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONSPerforms all duties in accordance with established pharmacy Policy and ProceduresConducts oneself in a manner that is conducive with a professional pharmacy environmentMaintains high quality of workMaintains basic computer skillsUnderstands department functionBe compliant with the completion of all required documentationMaintain skills and competencies required to perform duties of a RPhTContinue improving skills and knowledgeEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEMust either register with the state as a pharmacy technician trainee and MUST take a Board approved pharmacy technician certification exam within ONE year of employmentBoard approved pharmacy technician certification exam can be obtained either from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) OR be certified either through PTCB or NHA and registered with the state as a Pharmacy TechnicianPrefer to have some pharmacy experience and basic knowledge of pharmacy workflowPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSStand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. or non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
