Plant Manager

Job Description The Plant Manager I is responsible for all operations at the plant. The Plant Manager must direct the resources of the facility such that the plant operates within budget while delivering quality products and superior service, in a safe and challenging work environment. Ensure optimal use of all facility resources to achieve the lowest possible cost in the manufacture of products that meet customer expectations, and in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements. Establish clear plant goals and objectives in alignment with corporate strategies and business initiatives. Coordinate the development of subordinate-level goals and action plans consistent with the overall plant goals and objectives. Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, environmental, and GMP rules, regulations, and policies. Monitor and implement annual capital plans that maintain the plant infrastructure, provide new products and services, and provide productivity savings necessary to meet financial targets. Maintain compliance with State & Federal environmental regulations. Guarantee plant operates safely and in compliance with OSHA and regulatory mandates. Ensure the plant is operated in compliance with all environmental regulatory standards. Identification, development, and execution of cost savings/productivity projects. Purchasing, to include materials, supplies, and utilities. Management of maintenance inventory parts & supplies. Oversee food safety through good manufacturing practices compliance. Ensure finished goods meet internal and external quality requirements through the establishment of HACCP and other quality processes. Identify and implement initiatives that provide our customers with continuous improvement opportunities in customer service. Provide leadership in the creation of a zero-injury culture at the plant. Provide leadership in the development and implementation of a robust process safety management program for the plant. Maintain compliance with Food Safety & Security policy & procedures. Achieve customer service goals and objectives. Foster a positive, motivated, and challenging work environment. Develop reporting mechanisms to track and communicate the progress of key plant objectives. Training & Development of Salaried Staff. Performance evaluation of Salaried Staff. Training & development of the hourly workforce. Provide a leadership role in the development and implementation of appropriate productivity improvement initiatives. Conduct daily meetings covering production, quality, and plant needs. Assumes responsibilities of the Plant Superintendent in their absence. Communicate with Corporate for daily operations. Collaborate closely with onsite teams and participate in onsite meetings to drive departmental objectives. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, or equivalent Related Experience: At least 10 years of experience in Plant and Production Supervisory positions; Experience in the Food Industry is preferred Equipment/Software Skills: MS Office Suite (Including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access), AS/400. Familiarity with PLC, Warehouse Management Systems, Inventory Management Systems, and Plant Automation Systems. Must be able to interface with mainframe, general accounting, MRP, and order processing. Communications – Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills in dealing with both internal and external to Stratas are critical to success. Listens and gets clarification. Leadership – Exhibits confidence in self and others; Accepts feedback from others; Gives appropriate recognition to others. Analytical – Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data. Root cause problem-solving techniques – Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; Gather and analyze information skillfully; Develop alternative solutions. Developing teamwork and productivity – Balances team and individual responsibilities; Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views; Gives and welcomes feedback; Supports everyone's efforts to succeed . Additional Information Physical: Typical activities may include prolonged periods of sitting or standing, using a computer, and occasional movement within the workplace. May require lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds. Sensory: Requires clear verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members and others. Active listening and attention to detail are essential. Mental/Reasoning: Must be able to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing demands. Requires strong organizational skills, dependability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Must demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion.
