GC2 General Maintenance Technician

The GC2 General Maintenance Technician supports GC2 general maintenance needs in the field or facility GMT pools and strive to become a Hilcorp employee operator or maintenance technician by learning the process flow/equipment and standing out as a viable candidate for these positions.

Essential Duties & Job Functions

  • Must adhere to CCI company policies.
  • General maintenance of assigned area of GC2 field or facility as follows but not limited to; Bolt up, Breaking and Containment, Operation of and Qualification for machinery (forklift/zoomboom, manlift, knuckleboom, frontend loader, skid steer, snow plow), Painting/chipping/sanding/grinding, Rigging/Lifting, WAG swaps, State testing, Door repairs, Pipe/valve/equipment removal/replacements, Chemical fills/Fluid transfers, All general maintenance needs.
  • Work with maintenance techs and operations as needed/directed to accomplish daily/long term tasks.
  • Reviews work order backlog, prioritizes work to be completed prior to due dates, updates comment section as work progresses, closes out WO's when tasks are completed.
  • Communicate well with Leads and Maint Coord with task updates, tools/parts needed to complete tasks, hurdles or obstacles delaying task, Safety needs/concerns/ideas
  • Ability to effectively work within a team environment and work individually at times, willing to train co-workers and be trained by others.

  • Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong boltup/torquing/piping abilities
  • Knowledgeable of oilfield equipment/processes or the ability to show aptitude of quickly learning /understanding the equipment/processes in which you will be required to work on/around.
  • Maintain required certifications; driver's license, mobile equipment, rigging, respiratory, etc.
  • Ability to read P&ID's, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
  • You must be Safety minded for your own protection, protection of co-workers and for Hilcorp owned interests. Follow the ASH Book.
  • Ability to quickly learn/navigate our maintenance management system EAM.
  • Must be highly motivated, self-starter, require little supervision, task oriented, have excellent housekeeping awareness, attention to details, have mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to effectively communicate. Includes changeout/handover notes with your alternate and leads.
  • Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to accurately solve problems.
  • Ability to work long hours, some overtime will be required as directed.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments/support groups, and your peers.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities. Requires multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Current NSTC card
  • Must have hand and power tool knowledge and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Oil & Gas Facility Operations with knowledge of production systems and equipment.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Familiarity with Greater Prudhoe Bay facilities.
  • Current Alaska 40 Hour Asbestos Abatement Certification.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud. This position may involve working with potentially hazardous materials and waste.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee's ability to perform to the job standard. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY EVALUATION (FCE) LEVEL 3.

    MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.

    LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 30 pounds from waist level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.

    HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.

    VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man. Have correctable vision to at least 20/40.

    RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurement will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
