Low Voltage Technician

We're hiring a Low Voltage Technician to join our field team. Some of our best people specialize in just one side of the business - data cabling (copper and fiber) or security systems (CCTV and access control) - and some do both. Whichever describes you, if you have hands-on low-voltage field experience, we want to talk to you.What You'll Do - Structured Cabling:1. Install, terminate, and test copper (Cat5e/6/6A) and fiber optic cabling.2. Read and work from low-voltage plans, riser diagrams, and cable schedules.3. Label, document, and organize cable runs and termination points to code and industry standard (BICSI/TIA).What You'll Do - Security Systems:1. Install and configure CCTV cameras and NVR/VMS platforms from manufacturers such as Hanwha, Axis, and the Motorola Solutions video security and access family (Avigilon, Avigilon Alta, Pelco), and Verkada.2. Install and program access control hardware and commission systems such as Genea and PDK.3. Troubleshoot and service existing security installations in the field.What You'll Do - Across Both:1. Diagnose and resolve technical issues with minimal client downtime.2. Complete accurate service documentation and as-built records.3. Perform quality checks and testing (e.g., Fluke certification testers) to confirm installations meet spec.4. Communicate directly with clients on-site regarding scope, status, and solutions.5. Follow all safety protocols on job sites.What We're Looking For:1. 1+ years of hands-on experience in structured cabling, CCTV, or access control (both a plus, not required).2. Certifications a plus and may increase starting pay: BICSI, AESBL, and manufacturer certifications (Hanwha, Axis, Avigilon/Avigilon Alta, Pelco, Verkada, Genea, PDK).3. Comfortable reading low-voltage plans and troubleshooting independently.4. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.5. Ability to regularly lift/carry up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs; comfortable working at heights (ladders, lifts) and in tight spaces (ceilings, crawlspaces).Schedule and Travel:Monday-Friday, 8-hour day shift, plus rotational on-call (frequency based on current team size and skill coverage). Travel up to 15%, primarily local/regional job sites.Compensation and Benefits:Pay is $20-34 per hour, based on experience and certifications.
