This role serves as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. The nurse effectively delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members; assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibits sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity; and maintains involvement in activities that support the unit and department’s strategic goals. Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Required) Bachelor’s degree in nursing (Preferred) Work Experience No prior experience required (Required) Certifications Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice (Required) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (Required) Certification in a clinical specialty area (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Good organizational and time‑management skills; ability to be self‑directed. Good judgment. Good interpersonal skills. Job Duties Effectively use the nursing process in the delivery of patient care. Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of patients, families, and other groups or disciplines. Duties performed routinely involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue, and may present an occupational risk for communicable diseases or hazardous medications and waste.
