CNA / Teacher AssistantSalary: $21,874 base salary (based on education and teacher assistant experience) Location: Hartsville High School Available: 2026-2027 School YearQualifications:State Certification as a Nursing Assistant and one of the following:High School Diploma or the equivalent AND Ready to Work CredentialsWork Keys - Copy of passing scores on three areas of Work Keys AssessmentApplied Mathematics (4), Reading for Information (4), Writing (4)ParaPro - Copy of passing score (minimum 456) on ParaPro, the state approved academic assessment or Minimum of sixty (60) academic credit hours from an accredited institution of higher education or An associate degree (or higher)Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Certified Nursing Assistant:Uphold professional standards and other state and local status and regulations within the scope of certified nursing assistantApply appropriate theory as the basis for decision-making in nursing practiceFollow the nursing care plan with specific goals and interventions which have been developed to delineate school nursing actions unique to a student's needsAssess student responses to nursing actions to determine progress made toward goal achievementUnder the supervision of the school's registered nurse, carry out required dutiesAccompany student needing assistance (i.e., to/from bus, mainstream classes, cafeteria, etc.)Collaborate and participate with the school nurse and team in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating student health care plansAssist the registered nurse in the health room areas as neededAssume responsibility for continuing education and professional developmentMaintain a professional relationship with students, parents, teachers, and staffTeacher Assistant:Provide classroom teaching assistanceProvide supervision of students at all timesMaintain a positive classroom environmentProvide students with daily care (e.g. toileting, diapering, feeding, etc.) as needed or requiredAdhere to district dress code policiesMaintain required confidentiality in regard to students and school recordsPositively supports all facets of student growth and developmentMust be able to lift a minimum of fifty poundsA complete application packet must be submitted through the online application system prior to the closing date in order to be considered for this position.
