Manufacturing Estimator

Manufacturing EstimatorWe are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing metal fabrication and manufacturing team. This role is responsible for reviewing customer drawings and specifications, developing accurate cost estimates, and supporting sales efforts by providing timely and competitive quotations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and has a strong understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes.Supervisory Responsibilities: NoneInternal Relationships: All DepartmentsExternal Relationships: Occasional and incidental contact with customers or prospective customersTraits Displayed:Ability to exude high energy, solution-based thinking, while focusing great attention to detail and maintaining a service-oriented disposition.Contribute to a work environment that promotes pride in being part of a winning team and encourages personal and professional growth and success.Assure productivity and high-quality standards are constant so that the company and employees collectively enjoy optimum financial returns, job security, personal career growth and excellent service to customers.Ability to provide exemplary and consistent customer satisfaction, with a strong capacity for building relationships.Primary Responsibilities:Review customer drawings, models, and specifications to prepare accurate estimates and quotes.Develop bills of materials (BOMs), manufacturing processes, and production routing.Calculate material, labor, equipment, and outside processing costs.Work closely with customers, vendors, sales, engineering, and production teams.Analyze production data to improve estimating accuracy and identify cost-saving opportunities.Maintain estimating tools, calculators, and costing databases.Monitor estimate-to-actual performance and recommend improvements.Prioritize multiple projects while meeting customer deadlines.Minimum Requirements:5+ years of estimating experience in metal fabrication and manufacturing.Strong knowledge of laser/plasma cutting, forming, CNC machining, welding, and finishing/coating processes.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files.Understanding of bills of materials (BOMs), manufacturing processes, and cost estimating.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.Self-motivated with excellent organization and attention to detail.Preferred Requirements:Experience with heavy plate fabrication and processing.Welding estimating experience.Experience with Epicor or similar ERP/MRP software.Background in cost accounting, time studies, or manufacturing planning.What We Offer:Competitive payComprehensive benefits packagePaid time off and holidaysCareer growth opportunitiesStable and growing manufacturing environmentEnvironment/Physical Requirements with or without Accommodation:This job operates in a professional office environment.
