Which is why we provide competitive compensation and a supportive work environment. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CAREGIVER / PATIENT CARE ATTENDANTAs a Caregiver / Patient Care Attendant, you provide resident care under the direct supervision of the DON. Each day, you arrive for your shift determined to treat each resident with respect and kindness. You do everything you can to preserve their dignity, as you provide the individualized physical, psychological, and social support that they need. When residents request assistance, you respond promptly and courteously.Your positive attitude makes a big impact as you assist with activities of daily living such as mobility, dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting, skincare, nail care, oral hygiene, and shaving. You also perform household services essential to health care at home, including meal preparation, feeding, laundry, changing bed linens, and light housekeeping. You encourage residents to develop friendships by socializing and participating in leisure and dining activities. Following established guidelines, you assist in their preparation for and transport them to and from such activities. Furthermore, you love that you get to assist in running activity programs for our seniors.You conduct routine rounds every two hours and keep accurate records as required, being vigilant about reporting any changes in the condition of residents to the Director of Nursing to ensure that all medical needs are properly met. Your attention to detail and accuracy help ensure the highest quality of care. You are patient and calm, treating those you care for just the way you would want your own family members treated.
