Registered Nurse IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit, overseeing intermediate and stepdown care needs. Ensure patient safety, stability, and well-being through comprehensive nursing interventions and assessments.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer medications and treatments based on physician orders and patient needs.
  
  
• 
  Monitor patient conditions, recognizing changes and escalating care when necessary.
  
  
• 
  Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in electronic health records.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and update individualized care plans.
  
  
• 
  Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and family members on care procedures and discharge instructions.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold an active, valid state or compact nursing license.
  
  
• 
  Possess a minimum of 1 year of recent nursing experience in IMC, PCU, or stepdown units.
  
  
• 
  Be ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certified.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in managing a mixed patient population with acuity and complexity.
  
  
• 
  Be willing to cover Med/Surg overflow shifts as needed.
