Slitter Assistant (1st Shift)

**Summary Description**The Slitter Assistant reports directly to the Plant Superintendent and is responsible for performing tasks necessary to support high-quality, efficient, and timely shipment of TOPPAN products.Excellent attendance is critical to team success. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, works well across teams, and brings strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and pride in their work.**What You’ll Be Doing*** Pack roll stock from the Slitting and Press Departments* Assist Slitter Operators in secondary slitting operations with a focus on increasing production efficiency on the assigned shift* Support Slitter Operators by moving and wrapping pallets, staging rolls to be slit, and keeping the department supplied with materials* Cut cores, empty trash and trim bins, reclaim rolls on rewinder equipment, and pack finished rolls with proper labels, boxes, and pallets* Collect samples for Quality Assurance and Customer Service as requested on work orders* Move finished goods to the wrapping staging area* Review scheduling lists and prepare required materials to execute production orders* Keep recyclables, cores, cardboard, and materials organized and properly segregated* Operate slitter equipment and fill in during PTO coverage or absences as needed**We’d Love to Hear From You If*** You have an excellent attendance history* You have proven success in a fast-paced environment* You work well with multiple teams and solve problems effectively* You take pride in your work and have strong analytical and organizational skills* You have strong attention to detail* You can occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl* You can frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds* You can occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds* You can regularly use hands and fingers to handle tools, materials, and controls* You have 6 to 12 months of work experience preferred* You have good reading and math skills* You can read a ruler and measure in inches *(to 1/16")*, centimeters, and millimeters* You can understand and interpret work orders tied to customer specifications* Forklift or lift truck experience is a plus**Benefits**At TOPPAN Packaging Americas, we offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package designed to support overall wellbeing.
