Product Manager
Halda
Product Manager Full-time | Hybrid (Provo, UT) or Remote (U.S.) About the opportunity You’ll own a core product area end-to-end: discovery, spec, build, launch and measurement. You’ll work directly with engineering, design and customer teams, and you’ll talk with admissions directors and enrollment VPs every week. Your decisions shape what students and enrollment professionals across the country experience daily. This is an AI-forward role at an AI company. We wrote out exactly what that means, because “AI-forward” on a job posting usually means nothing. The fundamentals haven’t changed AI didn’t repeal the basics of good product management. We still hire for them first. Product sense. You can look at a feature request, a usage pattern or a support ticket and see the problem underneath it. Prioritization under constraints. We have more requests than build capacity. You’ll say no clearly and back it up with evidence. Specs that stand alone. Engineers can read your work and build without a follow-up meeting. You write goals, scope, edge cases and what we’re deliberately skipping. Customer empathy. You’ll sit in on admissions calls, read student conversations and watch enrollment teams work. No tool replaces knowing your users. Ownership. You carry the problem from discovery through delivery through measuring what happened. What’s different: how we work with AI AI is your daily toolkit. You use it for research synthesis, competitive analysis, drafting and data exploration, and you’ve built prompts and workflows that make you measurably faster. Prototypes beat paragraphs. When a spec turns ambiguous, you build a quick working demo in Claude Code, Cursor or a similar tool instead of writing three more pages about it. You own the output. AI drafts; you decide. “The model wrote it” has never excused a bad spec and never will. You follow the landscape. You know what’s shipping across AI tooling because it changes what’s possible for you and for our product. You’ll also PM the AI itself. Halda’s product talks with students and families, so you’ll build judgment about model behavior, evaluation and where automation helps a student versus where it gets in their way. What you’ll do Synthesize customer conversations, support patterns and usage data to find the problems worth solving. Write specs grounded in how the product works today, using AI-assisted exploration to understand what exists before proposing what should change. Build quick prototypes to make ambiguous ideas concrete and get faster feedback from engineering and design. Run discovery with enrollment teams through interviews, call reviews and campus visits when it helps. Define success metrics for each release and report on what happened, including when the answer is “it didn’t work.” Improve your own AI workflows over time and share what works with the rest of the team. What we’re looking for Three to five years of product management experience, ideally in B2B SaaS. Higher ed or edtech experience is strongly preferred. If you’ve worked with an admissions office or on a marketing team in higher education, you were our user. Evidence of serious AI use in your work: your setup, your workflow or something you’ve built. Comfort with ambiguity. You’ll help shape how the product works at Halda rather than inherit a playbook.
