The Intermediate Accountant is responsible for general accounting activities. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform monthly volumetric allocations, invoicing of revenues and/or payment of cost of goods sold invoices.
• Analyze revenue and explain variances between current month, prior month and budget.
• Address customer inquiries and work closely with Commercial, Contract Administration, and external auditors. This includes researching and resolving volumetric and pricing discrepancies.
• Prepare various volumetric balancing and analytical reports.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts related to revenue process.
• Prepare inventory reconciliations and analyze and clear reconciling items.
• Calculate and record monthly journal entries for revenues, cost of goods sold and/or variable expenses.
• Prepare financial statements for use in financial reporting.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• Accounting professional affiliations or certifications is a plus.
• 2 - 4 years prior work experience in Accounting is preferred.
• Midstream or other energy industry background is preferred.
• Candidate must have strong analytical skills and exhibit an attention to detail.
• Working proficiency/knowledge of Microsoft Excel to create pivot tables, develop macros and other advanced excel functions.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Candidate should exhibit self-motivation; ability to accept additional responsibility; and willingness to accept new challenges in a dynamic environment.
• Candidate will be responsible for multiple projects and should be able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
• As a result of experience, should begin to develop good judgment as to results that appear correct vs. incorrect.
• Candidate should be prepared to explain his/her work as necessary.
• Candidate should prepare written work that is frequently approved by the Supervisor on first submittal.
• Candidate should require limited technical supervision.
