MRI Technologist

Job Summary:


The Radiology / Cardiology MRI Technologist is responsible for performing MRI imaging procedures primarily for adult outpatient and geriatric patients focusing on musculoskeletal and spine areas. This role requires preparation and administration of contrast media, ensuring radiation safety, and collaborating with clinical teams to provide high-quality diagnostic images. The technologist must have a minimum of three years of experience, hold BLS and ARRT MR certifications, and be able to work flexible shifts as assigned by the clinic.

Responsibilities:

• Perform MRI imaging procedures on adult outpatient and geriatric patients, focusing on musculoskeletal (hip, bony pelvis, knee) and spine (cervical, lumbar, sacrum/coccyx, thoracic) regions.
• Prepare and/or administer contrast media as required for imaging studies.
• Ensure radiation safety compliance during imaging procedures.
• Operate MRI equipment including Philips Ingenia 1.5T units and utilize PACS Visage for image management.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize patient care and imaging quality.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and other required systems.
• Adhere to clinic scheduling and orientation requirements.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of MRI technologist experience.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ARRT MR certification.
• Experience with adult outpatient MRI procedures.
• Knowledge and skills in musculoskeletal and spine imaging.
• Ability to prepare and administer contrast media.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Radiation safety knowledge.
• Skill in starting peripheral IVs.

Special Considerations:

• RTO (Return to Office) after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite.
• Call offs or additional RTO may result in assignment cancellation and Do Not Rehire status.
• Travelers must be fully available during orientation with no conflicting commitments.
• No call, float, or weekend requirements.
• Scrubs are not provided; navy blue scrubs are required.

Scheduling:

• 40-hour workweek with 8-hour shifts.
• Shift options: 07:00 - 15:30 and 09:00 - 17:30, alternating.
• Scheduling is per clinic needs.
• Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed for auto offer.
• Assignments typically last 8 weeks.
