Job Description JOB SUMMARY The Speech Pathologist at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for patient evaluation and treatment planning, supervision of interns, and maintaining productivity levels. The Speech Pathologist must also exhibit effective leadership skills, coordination with other therapy disciplines, and adherence to regulations while demonstrating problem‑solving abilities and ensuring patient satisfaction through skillful clinical decisions. JOB FUNCTIONS Supervises student interns. Maintains productivity level at department target. Evaluates and establishes treatment plan for any patient referred to Speech Pathology. Clinically competent in assessment, treatment, and use of equipment as appropriate to clinical area. Attends and provides continuing education in‑servicing. Serves as mentor for new employee(s) or volunteers. Serves as clinical instructor after one year of experience as a clinician. Completes documentation according to all regulations and in a timely manner. May be required to cover other areas of rehab within limits. Provides speech‑therapy services for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Remains within monthly budget when ordering equipment and supplies. Charges patients appropriately and timely for treatment and equipment. Competent in use of computer for documentation and charging. QUALIFICATIONS Education —Must have at least a Master’s Degree in Speech‑Language Pathology (Required). Licenses and Certifications —SP‑L Licensed Speech Pathologist (state license based on facility location; required). CPR‑BLS (current; required). Certificate of Clinical Competence‑SLP (CCC‑SLP) within 1 year; required. Work Experience —Not specified. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities —Competency in assessment and treatment of neonates/infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics; ability to plan, organize, and implement patient treatment; coordinate schedules with other therapy disciplines; participate in PI projects, committees, and teams; establish and revise treatment protocols, policies, and procedures; excellent human relations skills; extensive patient and visitor interaction. Requirements The following are requirements in addition to those stated above. Licenses You must have the following licenses to apply: State license in Speech‑Language Pathology. CPR‑BLS.
