We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated FULL TIME Veterinary Kennel Assistant to join our esteemed team at Border Animal Hospital. As a Veterinary Kennel Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent care and support to our animal patients and their owners. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the comfort, cleanliness, and well-being of the animals in our care, as well as assisting our veterinary staff with various tasks to facilitate the smooth operation of our hospital. Located in Weslaco, Texas. Qualifications Genuine passion for animals and a strong commitment to their welfare. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, team members, and veterinarians. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and protocols accurately. Physical capability to lift, carry, and restrain animals of varying sizes. Basic computer skills for record keeping and communication purposes. Previous experience in a veterinary setting or animal care role is a plus. Job duties include Walking and exercising dogs Feeding and providing fresh water Bathing and basic pet care Administering medications as directed Cleaning and maintaining kennels and resort areas Providing safe, loving care to boarding and daycare pets Assisting with customer service and communicating with pet parents Monitoring pets for changes in behavior or health The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, comfortable handling dogs and cats, and able to work as part of a team.
