Shipping Supervisor

The primary responsibility of the Shipping Supervisor is to supervise employees in the daily shipment of materials, supplies, and products. This role involves collecting, validating, and packaging items for shipping in alignment with specified requirements and chosen transportation mode. Additionally, the Supervisor is responsible for documenting inbound and outbound items following established protocols.

Supervises the shipping team, providing direction on daily activities. Prepares orders for shipment to the distribution center or directly to customers by filling, packing, palletizing, shrink-wrapping, and consolidating them. Manages routine warehouse maintenance activities. Assists with cycle counts. Maintains a clean and organized shipping dock in compliance with 5S objectives. Creates daily shipping schedules according to customer requirements, route, weight, and cost. Facilitates transfers between distribution facilities as required. Oversees the recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluation of staff. Monitors employee performance and conducts regular performance reviews, fostering positive performance and coaching employees in improvement areas when necessary. Administers disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies and procedures. Keeps track of employee attendance per company policy, reviews time off requests, and ensures timely approval of timecards. Maintains employee safety and adherence to company policies. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required: High School Diploma/GED, 4 6 years of experience in shipping in a manufacturing environment, Certification in forklift or willingness to obtain certification, Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume work environment. Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in an efficient manner, Proactive "self-starter" with a strong attention to detail. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred: Consistent interaction with other hourly production team members and management. Will interact with transportation associates and external drivers/carriers.

Work Environment: This position works in a manufacturing work setting. Frequently exposed to seasonal temperatures of excessive cold or heat. Work environment is often loud, dusty and/or dirty due to the concrete materials required for production.
