Maintenance Technician

Commercial Real Estate Maintenance Technician – Austin and San Antonio, TX Whitestone owns and operates open-air neighborhood retail centers in high-growth markets across Texas and Arizona. We are seeking a hands-on, service-oriented Maintenance Technician to support Whitestone properties in the Austin and San Antonio area. In this role, you will help keep our retail centers safe, clean, and operating at a high standard. You will handle day-to-day maintenance and repairs, complete preventive inspections, troubleshoot property issues, and respond to work orders and property needs. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and property support across assigned Whitestone retail centers between Austin, TX, and San Antonio, TX. Respond promptly and professionally to work orders, tenant requests, property needs, and service issues. Troubleshoot and complete minor repairs involving plumbing, electrical, lighting, drywall, paint, doors, locks, fixtures, and other building finishes. Maintain common areas, exterior spaces, and vacant suites to support a clean, safe, and welcoming property environment. Complete property upkeep tasks, including pressure washing, window cleaning, graffiti removal, debris removal, and general exterior maintenance. Inspect, monitor, and report issues related to fire alarm panels, life safety systems, rooftop HVAC units, roof systems, water pumps, and fountains. Manage daily priorities, complete assigned tasks from start to finish, and work independently with strong follow-through. Respond to after-hours, weekend, and emergency calls as needed. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Active driver’s license with a good driving record required. Reliable transportation to travel between properties required. HVAC certification strongly preferred. Minimum of two years of general maintenance experience in a commercial environment required. Minimum of two years of general plumbing and electrical experience required. Ability to meet physical requirements, including stooping, climbing, and lifting 25 lbs. or more.
