Brad Foote Gear Works is searching for a number of Machinist to join our team in Cicero, IL. This position will be responsible for Set-up, program, operate, and run the machine (experience with 5 axis, milling, manual turning, CNC turning, cell cutting & hobbing, tooth grinding, etc). The successful candidate must provide and maintain their own set of basic tools required to effectively carry out assigned responsibilities. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Set-up, program, operate, and run the machine (experience with 5 axis, milling, manual turning, CNC turning, cell cutting & hobbing, tooth grinding, etc) · Check the Route Sheet, blueprint, and sketch for the operation and instructions and install piece/part into machine · Measure rough material and divide stock to ensure 100% clean up and check run out part in machine · Turn the first side per blueprint and Route Sheet instructions. Check all dimensions, remove the piece part from the machine, and make size corrections · Follow the bar-coding procedures per the SOPs, operate YOUJI VTL, Hofler gear hob/gasher or equivalent plus ancillary equip., true up the outside diameter to run true within spec · Deburr, stamp, inspect and package the parts produced in the cell · Inform supervisor or lead for assisted setups when operation may require indication and alignment · Stamp parts per SOP, follow bar-coding procedures per SOP499 · Read and understand drawings of product, and understand all written work instructions · All other duties as assigned
