About the Position

Job Title: RN PICU Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 2 years PICU RN experience License: IL RN license Certifications: BLS, PALS, NRP highly referred Must-Have: Previous travel experience NOT required Description: Looking for a skilled RN to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Float Pool. The facility has 300 licensed beds and is designated for trauma care, teaching, stroke, and chest pain. The unit consists of 19-23 beds with an average daily census of 15-18 patients. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 2:1, promoting a culture of teamwork and friendliness. Candidates must possess at least 2 years of experience in pediatric intensive care. The role includes caring for patients with respiratory issues, congenital heart disease, hematology/oncology concerns, post-operative needs, and trauma cases. Support within the department includes CNAs for patient room preparation and care, along with in-house phlebotomy, IV Team, Resource Nurse, and Tele Tech. Additional support is available 24/7, including respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists. Technology in use includes EMR, Alaris IV, Pyxis Med Dispense, and Med Sonic Monitors. Navy scrubs will be provided.
