Feel free to visit us online at Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Position has the responsibility for providing design engineering activities and other related documentation. The primary role includes hands on (2-D and 3-D) design, coordinating drafting task priorities with lead on task due dates and level of drawing package detail needed on a particular project. Key areas of accountability include: accurate drafting task management, meeting due dates, managing budgeted hours, training and drafting standards implementation. Uses CAD software and equipment to perform design tasks. Perform basic operations in ERP system. Confers with engineering personnel and prepares design modifications as required. Analyzes data and established product specifications to determine feasibility of product design for efficiency of procurement and manufacturing. Verify all required materials are correct and included on the secondary bill of materials (BMS). Generate part numbers manually or through CAD Link as required to coordinate with purchasing to control inventoried materials are being used correctly. Actively works to support affected departments with all design/engineering/material issues in an expedient manner Prioritize and manage drafting tasks to support the budgeted hours and scheduled due dates for projects. Coordinate drafting workload with drafting supervisor and requesting department as needed to support the prevailing work load. Attend design reviews and related project meeting (as required). Assist in the development of “As –Built” drawings, including inspection and measurement of completed units in shop to ensure drawings match completed product. Translate electronic documents between various formats (e.g. DWG, DXF, STP, PDF, ZIP, etc.). Perform other duties as assigned by manager. Salary employees are required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. Extra hours are at their own discretion to meet project deadlines with given work load. Qualifications / Skills / Personality Traits: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience: Associate’s degree or completion of formal drafting program & 3-5 years of CAD experience or equivalent. Competent with computer software such as, AutoCAD, Solidworks, Microsoft Office. Knowledge of industry mechanical drafting and design concepts, practices and procedures. Familiarity with welding, machining, and assembly processes. Knowledge of dimensioning and geometric tolerances. Required: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Positive Team builder: Ability to work in harmony with others. Must be able to develop and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, vendors, and customers. Technical Understanding/Competency: Able to learn and absorb how complex mechanical and electrical equipment work and how to grasp sizing and selecting sub-parts of that equipment, review and understand technical industry standards and customer specifications. Performance Driven Self Starter: Need to have a strong work ethic and be self-motivated, disciplined to achieve goals and deadlines putting in extra time or effort as needed. Needs to face obstacles head on with determination and persistence to work through them. Flexibility: Strong ability to prioritize and make quick decisions to achieve deadlines. Honesty: Not afraid to ask questions or admit when something is not known or clear and owns up to mistakes so they can be corrected and used as a learning experience. Preferred but not required: Understanding of basic hydraulics, electrical, piping, sheet metal and steel fabrication Comprehension of P&ID’s; (symbology and process flow) Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changes in the scope of projects Hourly rate: $25-35 depending on education and experience.
