About the Opportunity Schedule: Monday to Friday; flexible part-time or full-time availability Hours: 15-37.5 hours per week Setting: Onsite, pediatric oncology Responsibilities Provide Child Life support grounded in child development and the impact of illness, injury, disability, and hospitalization Create a welcoming and supportive environment for pediatric patients and their families Use age-appropriate teaching materials, therapeutic play, distraction techniques, and emotional support strategies Prepare and support children during procedures and treatment, including assistance during anesthesia-related care Collaborate with the pediatric care team, document patient care in the medical record, and maintain a safe, developmentally appropriate playroom environment Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Child Life, Child Development, or a closely related field Active Child Life Specialist certification Experience working with pediatric patients in a hospital or healthcare environment Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate interventions Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Ability to provide compassionate support to children and families during challenging circumstances Professional, calm, and collaborative approach to patient care Desired Skills Experience supporting pediatric oncology patients Exposure to radiation or radiology settings Familiarity with CT, PET, or MRI procedures #J-18808-Ljbffr Tandym-Group
