Overview Employer: AMAZON DATA SERVICES, INC. Offered Position: Data Engineer III Job Location: Seattle, Washington Job Number: AMZ10212104 Responsibilities Design, develop, implement, test, document, and operate large‑scale, high‑volume, high‑performance data structures for business intelligence analytics. Implement data structures using best practices in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, SQL, Oracle, and OLAP technologies. Provide on‑line reporting and analysis using OBIEE business intelligence tools and a logical abstraction layer against large, multi‑dimensional datasets and multiple sources. Gather business and functional requirements and translate them into robust, scalable, operable solutions that fit within the overall data architecture. Analyze source data systems and drive best practices in source teams. Participate in the full development life cycle: design, implementation, testing, documentation, delivery, support, and maintenance. Produce comprehensive dataset documentation and metadata. Evaluate and decide on dataset implementations and new or existing software products and tools. Mentor junior data engineers. Requirements Education: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field and at least three years of experience in the offered role, or as an Operations Research Analyst, Database Developer, or a related occupation. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in the same fields with seven years of progressive post‑baccalaureate experience is acceptable, provided the candidate has at least three years of relevant experience. Applicants must have one year of experience in each of the following skills: ETL/ELT processes; OLAP technologies; data modeling; SQL; and Oracle. Benefits 40 hours per week (8:00 am‑5:00 pm). Salary range: $162,828 to $209,100 per year.
