THE OPPORTUNITY

The Marine Diesel Service Technician will be responsible for service and repairs of marine engines & generators. We offer flexible, rotational shift schedules designed to fit your lifestyle, including 14 on/7 off, 14 on/14 off, and 28 on/14 off. Housing is provided while on shift for out-of-state candidates residing 100+ miles from their assigned branch. Our branches are located throughout Louisiana, including Harvey, Houma, Lake Charles, and Morgan City.

YEARLY POTENTIAL

$60,000 - $120,000 yearly. The yearly range indicated is representative of the hourly rate, including typical overtime. This range is based on a technician’s experience, skills, education and training. For technicians, overtime is typically calculated on a daily basis after 8 hours worked.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

Diagnose, inspect, disassemble, assemble, install, and repair Caterpillar power systems equipment and engine components Prepare company and customer inspection appraisal reports and order replacement parts Prepare, inspect, and operate marine engines & generators to meet customer expectations

YOUR VALUE

You will provide excellent mechanical troubleshooting & diagnostic assessments to help deliver best-in-class engine service repairs for our customers You will analyze, troubleshoot, test and verify adjustments of marine engine & generator components to determine reusability in accordance with Caterpillar guidelines You will have the tools and building blocks to MAKE A CAREER here at Louisiana Cat. Most Important Qualifications REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED equivalent REQUIRED: Technical training of marine engines REQUIRED: Valid U.S. Driver's license with clean Motor Vehicle Record; Transportation Worker ID Card (TWIC) preferred. Water Survival Training preferred. HIGHLY PREFERRED: Prior experience with Caterpillar engines; MSHA certification is helpful Must own required tool inventory.
