Travel RN - Med/Surg

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position requiring an AL or compact RN license, with night shifts and experience in IV starts, wound care, and isolation precautions.

Job Details

• Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting,
• Adult and geriatric patient population,
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6,
• Skills required include IV starts, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac,
• Night shift schedule with an option for 4x12-hour shifts,
• Every other weekend (EOW) required,
• Floating required,
• Charge nurse responsibilities possible on an as-needed basis,
• Mandatory 30-minute lunch break required - meals may not be skipped,

Job Requirements

• Active AL RN license or compact RN license (pending license considered),
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA),
• Current fit test required,
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred,
• Level II trauma experience preferred,
• Travel nursing experience preferred,
• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Prior permanent employees of this facility are not eligible for this travel assignment,
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local and may be subject to a different pay rate,
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days for the duration of the assignment,
• Hospital housing is available and consists of shared units with private bedrooms and shared common spaces; male and female units are separate,
• No dogs are permitted in hospital housing; travelers coordinate housing directly with the facility,
• The facility is located in a remote area, making provided housing the recommended option,
• The hospital offers flight reimbursement for economy-class travel to and from the assignment; detailed flight and luggage receipts are required for reimbursement processing,
• Flight itinerary must be submitted one week prior to the start date; the facility will assist with airport pickup for arriving travelers
