International Operations Agent I

The International Operations Agent I will be responsible for coordinating the day to day import/export of international freight forwarding shipments into and out of the USA & Mexico across all modes of international transportation based upon customer request.

Responsibilities include:

• Working with customers to qualify their shipping requirements and obtain all details necessary for shipment quotation and operating in order to ensure the customer's request is satisfied.
• Preparing profitable quotations accurately.
• Setting shipping schedules and communicating with customers, deliverers, and ports to verify loading, departures and arrivals in a timely manner.
• Coordinating the day to day import and/or export of products, including reviewing orders and documents.
• Tracking and communicating all delays, damages, problems and working to resolve customer issues.
• Responsible for all aspects of air and/or ocean international operations such as customer service, data entry of shipments, operations and billing.
• Managing all aspects of tracking shipments to ensure shipment is moving as scheduled and updating system immediately upon verification. Identifying and rectifying if a shipment has deviated from its schedule.
• Coordinating recovery/delivery schedules with various cartage agents and international partners.
• Partnering with local sales teams to communicate problems to customers, international partners and other stations, as needed.
• Ensuring all customers' SOP instructions are adhered to and AIT KPIs and guidelines are followed and met.
• Ensuring all shipments are properly billed within company guidelines and timelines.
• Processing and complying with all requirements listed by regulatory agencies.
• Networking with corresponding departments to ensure files are billed and posted prior to end of month.
• Continuous learning through required compliance training and certifications of software and/or regulations.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
• Complying with all policies and standards.

Qualifications include:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED degree or equivalent (Required). Bachelor's Degree degree or equivalent (Preferred).
• Experience: 2+ years industry experience in export/import operations (Required).
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of ITAR, DG or TSA work experience/regulations Medium. General Computer Skills Medium. Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC) Medium. Actual Time of Arrival (ATA) Medium. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Medium. Export Regulations Medium. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Medium.
• Licenses and Certifications: Cargo-wise within 1-1/2 Yrs (Required). Microsoft Office suite within 1-1/2 Yrs (Required).
