We’re looking for an Experienced Medical Director to join our passionate team at Nebel Street Animal Hospital in Bethesda, MD.

Salary: $160,000 - $200,000 /year base + Production Pro-sal with no negative accrual and no deficits.

We are a well-established, full-service general practice hospital with a legacy of excellence and loyal clientele. We are dedicated to staying current with the latest advancements in diagnostics, medical treatments, surgical procedures, and preventative wellness. We provide top-of-the-line medical, surgical, and dental equipment, as well as an in-house laboratory and ultrasonography.

Responsibilities

• The Medical Director is responsible for overseeing the medical operations within the hospital, serving as a mentor to the medical staff.
• Leading the advancement of high-quality patient care and client service.
• Serve as a mentor to staff, providing stability and leadership within the Hospital.
• Supporting DVMs to develop an understanding and best practices of how behaviors impact revenue.
• Provide DVM’s one on one development supporting quarterly production, reviewing production performance and coach for improvement.
• Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations.
• Meet regularly with the Hospital Manager to review controllable costs: DVM and Support Payroll, Inventory.
• Work in collaboration with the Hospital Manager to maintain and build our relationships with the referring community.
• Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily running/flow of hospital from intake to discharge.
• Play a significant part in the decision-making process and implementation of any new initiatives within their hospital.
• Technically advanced in their field and possess strong emotional intelligence; those who are self-aware, have positive attitudes, authenticity, and empathy toward others.
• Participate in weekly operational conference calls.
• Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels.
• Have strong proven leadership abilities, strong mentoring and team building skills, excellent communication with colleagues and the referring community, and possess a foundation of business skills to work alongside the Hospital Director to support the growing success of the hospital.
