Let us show you.Job DescriptionServe as liaison between the business community and the IT Application Development (AD) organization to provide technical solutions that meet user needs. Responsible for clearly understanding the real business goals, which often means using probing questions to help the business partners better understand and articulate those goals. Will also analyze business partner operations to understand their strengths / weaknesses and determine opportunities to improve / automate processes and functions.Understand evolving business and technical standards and policies and conform to themResponsible for capturing business requirements from business partners and translating them into functional specifications that are accurately understood in the same way by all on the cross-functional development team.This involves writing "User Stories" in many cases. Can also include writing Use Cases and scenariosResponsible for managing communications with the business partners to ensure that requirements are provided in line with project schedulesNegotiate deliverables by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation.Promptly communicate with the Project Manager regarding any issues that might cause delay, and provide status as neededFacilitate cross-functional team requirements/specification workshops to ensure that the real business requirements are understood and that the written specifications accurately and clearly express them.Define acceptance criteria for each requirement and translate that criteria into actionable acceptance testsFacilitate User Story grooming discussionsUnderstand the technical platform so as to articulate functional requirements/specifications in a way that comprehends and harmonizes with itParticipate in high-level solution design discussionsParticipate in high-level project estimating; provide effort estimate for BA work on projectsFollow rigorous SDLC and project management life cycle and best practices, comply with internal Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and other compliance related processes and adhere to Change Control and Problem Management procedures.Participate in the recommendation of buy vs. build vs. re-use decisions.Serve as liaison with Quality Management to ensure test and integration plans meet requirement objectivesPlan, conduct, and may direct the analysis of complex business issues to be solved with process changes and information systemsApply a broad knowledge of various business processes and functions and technical expertise to accurately anticipate organizational impactsQualificationsRequired Skills & Experience:Retirement financial services domain experienceExcellent communication skills, analytical skills, and a highly professional attitude5+ years in a technology driven organization5+ years capturing requirements and translating to functional and non-functional specificationsMust be able to facilitate business requirements gathering and definition in various formats including joint collaboration sessions with business and IT, targeted Q&A sessions with multiple Subject Matter Experts, and one-on-one user interviews in order to provide solutions that meet business and user needs.Must have experience working with technical resources and the ability to communicate and interpret inwardly to IT and outwardly to the businessMust understand the institutional financial services industry in order to immediately work closely with group leads to come up to speedExperience in data mapping with ability to analyze databases and schemas with limited guidanceAbility to manage multiple initiativesMust understand Agile methodologiesAble to operate in a geographically distributed environmentPreferred Additional Skills & Experience:Experience with conducting specification workshopsExperience with Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD)Experience with Specification by ExampleTechnical experience with the rational tool kit (especially Rational Team Concert (RTC) and Rational Requirements Composer (now called Rational DOORS Next Generation))Experience in developing user stories and requirements for workflow systemsInsurance knowledge desiredCharlotte location preferred but not mandatoryAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential.
