Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room, Medical-Surgical Adult Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable Nights, Days, Weekends Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Current State Licensure (Registered Nurse) Certifications: American Heart Association BLS, American Heart Association ACLS, National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification, American Heart Association PALS or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course certification. Must-Have: - Competence in and willingness to practice modified primary nursing - Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment - Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills Description: The Registered Nurse works in a collaborative and cooperative relationship with other members of the health care team. Responsibilities include planning and implementing patient and family education. Assessing patient needs and initiating appropriate interventions is essential. Required qualifications include current state licensure as a Registered Nurse. Candidates must possess American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications. Certification in the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale is necessary. Pediatric advanced life support or the Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course certification is also required. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Essential job functions include collecting comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health. Analyzing assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues is crucial. Identifying expected outcomes for patient care plans is expected. Developing and implementing plans of care that prescribe strategies to attain expected outcomes is necessary. Promoting health and a safe environment is a vital function. Continuously enhancing the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice is required. Evaluating one’s own nursing practice in relation to professional standards is essential. Contributing to the professional development of peers is expected. Collaboration with patients, families, and others in nursing practice is necessary. Integrating ethical provisions into all areas of practice is vital. Integrating research findings into practice is required. Providing leadership in the professional practice setting is expected. Compliance with policies and procedures related to stroke care is necessary. Participation in annual stroke education and trauma-related education is required. Knowledge, skills, and abilities include sound judgment and decision-making capabilities. Candidates must demonstrate patience and maintain a professional demeanor. The ability to work varied shifts and handle emotional challenges is essential. Regular and sustained attendance is required. Candidates must be able to work beyond a standard workweek, including weekends. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Maintaining a sitting or standing posture for extended periods is necessary. Walking and moving around the work area, and the ability to climb or reach are also required. Demonstrating fine finger movements and close visual acuity are crucial. Cognitive skills to learn, remember, and make timely decisions within workflow are essential.
