CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift

CNC MachinistCalling all night owls! Are you an experienced CNC Machinist who enjoys seeing your final product from start to finish? Come join CPV Manufacturing, as this position produces machined parts by setting up and operating various computer numerical control (CNC) machines, maintains quality and safety standards, keeps records, and maintains equipment and supplies. Applies principles of 5S while performing job responsibilities.This position is 2nd shift Monday through Thursday 3:30pm - 1:30am with a 30-minute paid meal break. 10% shift differential pay. Must be available to train Monday through Friday 6:30am - 3:15pm before transitioning to assigned 2nd shift.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Read work orders or production schedules to determine specificationsSet up, test, and adjust machines according to product specifications, using gauges and hand toolsMazak set-up and runPosition, align, and secure work pieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on diesStart machines, monitor their operations, and record operational dataMeasure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulersExamine completed work pieces for defects and sort defective pieces according to types of flawsMaintain, clean, and lubricate machinesPerforms other activities as requested to meet departmental goalsComply with all OSHA and company safety rulesQualifications:Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; diploma or degree in technical program preferred5 Years of CNC machinery experienceRead and use conventional measuring toolsUnderstand toleranceBe able to identify drawing elements such as surface finish, concentricity, parallel surfacesUnderstand thread elements such as minor, major and pitch diameterKnow how and why to bore lathe soft jaws for work holdingCapable of identifying and selecting generic lathe tools and drillsAble to understand milling and drilling on the machine centersAble to use related manufacturing tools and equipmentPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to stand for extended periods of timeAbility to wear proper PPE at all timesOccasionally required to lift up to 50 lbsSpecific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust or focusBenefits:Competitive salary commensurate on experience plus 10% shift differential4-day work weekGenerous paid time off plan and 10 paid holidays401k match up to 6%Major medical and dental insurance, as well as company-paid Short-Term Disability and Life Insurance
