The LCSW will provide clinical services to individuals receiving substance use disorder and behavioral health treatment. This position will work collaboratively with clinical leadership, counselors, peer support professionals, medical providers, and other members of the treatment team.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, professionalism, documentation skills, and the ability to provide effective, person-centered care while maintaining compliance with organizational, regulatory, and payer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and assist with determining appropriate levels of care.
• Develop, review, and update individualized treatment plans.
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling as appropriate.
• Facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational groups.
• Complete progress notes, assessments, treatment plans, discharge documentation, and other required clinical records accurately and within established timeframes.
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and case consultations.
• Assess clients for behavioral health, substance use, safety, and psychosocial needs.
• Assist with crisis intervention and appropriate referrals when necessary.
• Coordinate care with community providers, medical professionals, referral sources, and other authorized parties.
• Support discharge and continuing-care planning.
• Maintain appropriate professional and clinical boundaries.
• Protect client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
• Follow Keys of Life LLC policies and procedures.
• Maintain compliance with applicable Virginia DBHDS, DMAS, Medicaid, managed-care, and professional licensing requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement, utilization review, and clinical documentation activities as requested.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current, unrestricted Virginia LCSW license.
• Experience providing behavioral health and/or substance use disorder services.
• Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of evidence-based and person-centered treatment practices.
• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary clinical team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Ability to successfully complete required background checks and other employment screenings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in  ASAM 2.1 Intensive Outpatient (IOP)or  ASAM 2.5 Partial Hospitalization/Day Treatment programs.
• Experience treating individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
• Familiarity with Virginia DBHDS and DMAS behavioral health requirements.
• Experience with Medicaid and managed-care documentation standards.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR).
• Experience facilitating substance use and mental health treatment groups.
