The role requires a solid understanding of departmental and hospital policies that guide the delivery of safe and effective nursing care. Strong interpretive skills and sound clinical judgment are essential, as the nurse will engage in frequent interactive, consultative, and collaborative communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members. This position plays a key role in supporting a coordinated, professional, and caring environment that promotes optimal patient outcomes.ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Clinical PracticeFacilitate, implement, and evaluate the Patient Plan of Care and corresponding outcomes.Collaborate with the healthcare team to promote positive patient outcomes and serve as a strong patient advocate.Implement nursing interventions in a timely and appropriate manner.Demonstrate competent clinical and technical skills required for delivering safe, high?quality patient care.Apply critical thinking and sound clinical judgment in all aspects of patient assessment and treatment.Assess, analyze, and communicate patient information promptly and accurately.Follow all medication safety policies and standards of practice.Safety & Risk ManagementAssess patient safety risk factors and identify patients requiring specific interventions related to skin integrity, fall risk, and proper use of restraints.Promptly initiate interventions to address identified safety needs.Complete required Safety Tracking Tools and documentation in accordance with policy.DocumentationAccurately and promptly document all assessments, interventions, patient responses, and provider communication in the medical record.Ensure documentation reflects clinical decision-making and meets departmental and regulatory standards.Delegation, Supervision & Team SupportSupervise assigned staff and delegate tasks appropriately while maintaining responsibility for all care delivered to assigned patients.Report performance issues or concerns involving team members to ensure all patients receive appropriate care and attention.Actively assist coworkers and contribute to a supportive, collaborative team environment.Patient & Family EducationAssess educational needs of patients and families and provide clear, appropriate written and verbal instructions.Document all education provided and evaluate the patient's understanding.Provider Orders & Clinical PrioritizationPerform continuous review, initiation, and implementation of provider orders every shift.Prioritize responsibilities based on urgency, patient needs, and available resources.Demonstrate strong problem?solving abilities, independent decision?making, and effective time?management skills.Multitask efficiently while maintaining accuracy and quality of care.Professional Accountability & DevelopmentSeek opportunities to expand clinical knowledge and skill through independent learning and participation in clinical experiences.Complete assigned education modules and annual competencies within required timeframes.Actively participate in unit?based councils, quality improvement initiatives, and performance enhancement efforts.Recognize unit needs and contribute to developing and implementing solutions.QualificationsMinimum 1 year of experience as a registered nurseCredentialsRN - Registered NurseBLS - Basic Life Saving certificationACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification - must be obtained upon completion of department orientationNIH - Stroke CertificationEducationRN, Graduate of an accredited School of NursingEntry USD $36.20/Hr. Max USD $59.73/Hr.
