Registered Nurse - NICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking a highly skilled NICU Registered Nurse for a 13 or 18-week assignment starting November 11. The role involves providing advanced neonatal care in a Level 4 NICU, with potential float to satellite units, and requires flexibility for night shifts and holiday coverage.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to neonatal intensive care patients, utilizing advanced nursing skills and specialized equipment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
• Monitor and assess neonatal vital signs, ventilator settings, and line changes, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient progress, treatments, and interventions accurately within the electronic health record system.
• Float between NICU, PICU, and satellite units as needed to support facility requirements.
• Maintain compliance with hospital and unit-specific policies, including holiday and weekend shift coverage.

Qualifications:

• Valid California RN license or pending license with ETA for posting.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Level 4 NICU experience; strong Level 3 surgical experience considered for qualified candidates.
• Certifications: BLS, Advanced NRP, and PALS preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency with oscillators, ventilators, line management (PICC, Broviacs, UAC, UVC, PAL lines), and pre/post operative care.
• Comfortable with line changes involving multiple drips, and caring for trachs, ostomies, and G-Tubes.
• Willing to float across units and satellite locations, with own transportation and mileage reimbursement.
