General Supply SpecialistDuties As a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST at the GS-2001-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:Responsible for management and oversight of all Joint Staff Hand Receipt Holders Accounts, by managing the inventory schedule of Hand Receipt Holder Accounts and the proper maintenance of all accountable property recordsExercise property accountability using the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) to accurately account for all non-expendable property.Prepares inventory lists, assists HRHs as required in conducting inventories, and adjusts property records as required to ensure accuracyServes as point of contact and advisor for auditors, inspectors, and investigators, explaining and justifying Joint Staff policies and procedures used to account for accountable propertyResponsible for the upgrading, implementation, automation, execution and analysis of the Joint Staff Property Accountability Systems (DPAS)Requirements Conditions of employmentMust be a U.S. citizenMales born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective ServiceResume and supporting documents (See How To Apply)Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigationMay be required to successfully complete a probationary periodWork Schedule: Full TimeOvertime: OccasionallyTour of Duty: FlexibleRecruitment Incentives: May be AuthorizedFair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): ExemptFinancial Disclosure: Not RequiredTelework Eligibility: This position is SITUATIONALLY telework eligibleMust possess or obtain a valid state driver's license and, if required, the pertinent Government operator's permit in order to perform periodic travel for on-site visits and inspections and to attend meetings and conferences.Security: must obtain/maintain a Special Sensitive (Top Secret/SCI) security clearanceDrug Testing Designated Position: YesQualifications You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:D eveloping chain of command's policy and positions regarding transportation and maintenance, self service supply centers, Joint Staff art curator liaison/coordination, and Joint Staff Uniform TA 50 liaison;Acting as a point of contact and advisor for auditors, inspectors and investigators for local policies and procedures to account for property;Utilizing Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) and database management programs to manage and control, equipment, property and supplies;Researching complex historical imagery and present culturally and historically accurate art recommendations, briefings, and suggestions directly to senior leadership;Planning, studying and conducting projects and studies to evaluate and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in the assigned program setting
