Echocardiology Technologist

The Echocardiology Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic echocardiography studies to assist in the detection and diagnosis of cardiovascular conditions. This role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality imaging and ensure patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities:

• Perform transthoracic echocardiograms, contrast studies, and bubble studies according to departmental protocols and professional standards.
• Obtain accurate cardiac measurements and diagnostic-quality images for interpretation by cardiologists.
• Evaluate patient history to optimize imaging quality, recognize abnormalities, and communicate urgent findings when necessary.
• Support interdisciplinary care by collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members across various patient settings.
• Maintain proper documentation of procedures and ensure equipment calibration and safety.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography, Echocardiography, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of one year of echocardiography experience.
• Experience working in a travel or clinical setting involving cardiac imaging.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, Doppler principles, and echocardiographic techniques.
