Registered Nurse (RN) Intensive Care Unit (ICU) PRN

Registered Nurse (RN), Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Type: PRN | Nights Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts per 6 week period; 7p-7a; one of those shifts being a weekend Team Culture Southern TN Regional Health System ICU Unit is defined by a culture of deep mutual respect where nurses with one year of experience and veterans of twenty years work side-by-side as a true family. Responsibilities Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatment. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. Qualifications Current Tennessee or compact state RN license. Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (BSN preferred). Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire; AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support and AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire. One-year prior experience preferred. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, and to work in a stressful environment.
