Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse provides patient- and family-centered nursing care while practicing within the CHOP Nursing Professional Practice Model . The role involves caring for patients ranging from routine to highly complex cases, demonstrating clinical competence, leadership, and adherence to professional nursing standards and ethics.

• Deliver safe, age-appropriate, family-centered nursing care.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Care for patients with varying levels of acuity, including complex cases.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Utilize evidence-based practice and clinical decision support tools.
• Maintain accurate electronic health record (EHR) documentation.
• Follow ANA standards, state Nurse Practice Acts, and organizational policies.
• Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

• Nursing Diploma (minimum)
• BSN preferred

• Active RN License in Pennsylvania or New Jersey , or
• Multistate Compact RN License valid in Pennsylvania
• CPR certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross with hands-on skills verification)
• PALS certification
• If working under a Temporary Practice Permit, obtain permanent RN license before permit expiration

• Electronic Health Record (EHR) navigation
• Clinical communication systems
• Clinical decision support tools
• Patient data retrieval and documentation
• Quality improvement data collection
• Respiratory FIT testing

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Basic computer operations
• Internet and intranet navigation
• Shared network drives
• Patient-care technology (IV pumps, point-of-care devices, cardiac/clinical monitors)

• BSN degree

• At least 1 year of RN experience in:- Pediatrics

  • Specialty nursing unit

• Active membership in a professional nursing organization
