General Labor / Material Handler – Sparks, NV

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking General Laborers with Material Handling experience for an immediate start in Sparks, NV . This is a great opportunity to join a long-term industrial project with a stable schedule, competitive pay, and opportunities to grow.

Position Details

• Pay: $25.00/hour
• Shift: Day Shift
• Schedule: Monday–Friday (Saturday as needed)
• Hours: 40+ hours per week
• Start Date: Immediate
• Location: Sparks, NV

Position Summary

The General Labor / Material Handler will support daily construction and warehouse operations by safely moving, organizing, and staging materials throughout the job site. This position requires individuals who are dependable, safety-conscious, and capable of performing physically demanding work in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Essential Job Duties

• Load, unload, move, and stage construction materials, equipment, and supplies throughout the facility and job site.
• Transport materials manually or with pallet jacks, dollies, forklifts (if certified), or other material handling equipment.
• Assist tradesmen by delivering tools, materials, and equipment to designated work areas.
• Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas through continuous housekeeping and debris removal.
• Receive, inspect, organize, and inventory incoming materials and verify quantities against packing slips.
• Assist with material counts, inventory tracking, and proper storage of equipment and supplies.
• Stack, wrap, palletize, and prepare materials for transport or installation.
• Support warehouse operations including staging, labeling, sorting, and organizing materials.
• Operate hand and power tools safely as needed.
• Follow all OSHA regulations and site-specific safety procedures.
• Assist with loading and unloading deliveries from trucks and trailers.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and field personnel to ensure materials are available when needed.
• Perform additional general labor duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a General Laborer, Material Handler, Warehouse Associate, or Construction Laborer required.
• Experience moving and staging construction materials in an industrial or commercial environment.
• Forklift certification is a plus but not required.
• Ability to safely lift 50–75 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Familiarity with pallet jacks, dollies, carts, and other material handling equipment.
• Strong attention to safety and housekeeping.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work overtime and Saturdays when required.
• Must pass all pre-employment screening requirements, including background check and drug screening if required by the client.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 lbs.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, twist, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Wear required PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility vest, and steel-toe boots.
