Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to work as a Machine Operator on 2nd shift in a small manufacturing facility that produces bubble wrap and reflective wrap commonly used at construction sites. You will operate production machinery, handle bulk materials, and ensure products meet quality specifications while working in a hot, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manually load bulk material into production machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
• Operate and monitor machines, including making precise adjustments to speed and temperature settings to maintain optimal production performance.
• Use thickness gauges and other quality instruments to verify that products consistently meet client specifications.
• Follow work instructions and production guidelines to maintain product quality and consistency.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to support safety and efficiency.
• Handle packaging tasks as needed to prepare finished products for shipment or storage.
• Interpret basic blueprints or production diagrams as required for machine setup or product specifications.
• Use hand tools and related equipment as needed for machine operation and minor adjustments.
• Perform general labor tasks associated with production, including material handling and line support.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, including safe lifting techniques and proper use of tools and equipment.
• Work overtime as required, including Saturday shifts, based on production demands.

Essential Skills

• Experience in general production or manufacturing environments.
• Hands-on experience as a machine operator or in machine operation roles.
• Ability to use quality instruments such as thickness gauges to verify product specifications.
• Capability to perform general labor tasks, including material handling and packaging.
• Comfort working in a hot work environment for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and production procedures.
• Basic familiarity with blueprints or production diagrams.
• Proficiency using hand tools for routine machine operation and minor adjustments.
• Reliability to work 2nd shift hours and overtime, including Saturdays, as production requires.

• Experience using thickness gauges or similar measurement tools in a manufacturing setting.

Work Environment

This position is on 2nd shift, working Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with regular overtime and Saturday work as production demands. The facility is small and focused on manufacturing bubble wrap and reflective wrap commonly seen at construction sites. Due to the heat required to adhere layers of wrap together, the work environment is hot, and you should be comfortable working in elevated temperatures. The role involves standing, moving materials, lifting up to 50 pounds, and using production machinery, quality instruments, and hand tools throughout the shift. Dress should be appropriate for a manufacturing setting, with practical, safety-conscious attire suitable for a hot, active production floor.

This is a Permanent position based out of Markleville, IN.

The pay range for this position is $48298.00 - $49338.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
