Maintenance Mechanic

Pridestaff is working with an established manufacturing and distribution company seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join its growing team. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for equipment repair and preventive maintenance, and will support the manufacturing plant. The ideal Maintenance Mechanic is a skilled millwright with experience in pipefitting, pneumatics, hydraulics and welding (TIG, MIG, ARC). The Maintenance Mechanic is a full-time, direct-hire position in Kansas City, KS.

Maintenance Mechanic Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, repair or replace piping, fittings, valves, pumps, gear reducers, mechanical & gas seals, steam tracing, steam traps, regulators, actuators, backflow preventers, motors & ancillary devices
• Perform basic preventive maintenance, including but not limited to: lubrication, pressure/vacuum diagnostics, various testing analytics, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels & replacing filters
• Using various tools and equipment to repair machines, equipment & structures
• Receive & store items promptly & notify the supervisor if stock is low
• May be asked to perform tasks requiring hot work & vessel entry permits
• Identify & address inefficiencies in the maintenance process to reduce downtime
• Stay current on all assigned training modules
• Follow all company safety policies & procedures

Maintenance Mechanic Job Requirements:

• HS diploma or GED equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in a relevant trade or possess a trade degree
• Must have the following skills: pipefitting, millwright, pneumatics, hydraulics & welding (TIG, MIG, ARC)
• Have the ability to find answers to problems using logic & reasoning & through the application of general rules
• Must be able to read & interpret documents including procedure manuals
• Must be able to work in conditions that may include: exposure to wetness/humidity, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, extreme cold or heat, loud noises
• Must be able to stand, walk, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch & crawl
• Must be able to lift to 50 lbs
