Business Manager, Own Brands Location: Boise, ID | Full Time Summary We build people, brands and businesses! We are looking for a dynamic Business Manager to join one of our account teams. Reporting to a Senior Business Manager or Director, this position is responsible for the overall management of a single account with limited categories and limited team functions, or for a key category or categories within a larger account in the brokerage business. This role will have responsibilities for the execution of strategic plans, business plans, budgeting, and hiring for the account team. Support account team in the development of sales plans. Effectively negotiate supplier commission rates to grow category or team revenue. Perform, coordinate and lead the analysis and development of marketing plans, product promotions, advertising, in‑store displays, merchandising strategies, and inventory forecasting. Manage assigned categories, perform analysis, and develop and recommend strategy within assigned area of responsibility. Interpret trends and other sales analysis data to assist Senior Business Manager. Perform increasingly complex interactions with suppliers, taking ownership and including rate negotiation. Collaborate and partner with marketing resources, both internal and external. Assist with innovation needs. Demonstrate increased innovation and autonomy around marketing, brand management and consumer data analytics; lead team that provides more experience and covers more suppliers. Perform activities in a consultative manner, influencing and convincing buyers, effectively selling various services. Ensure execution of the LAMP framework to identify critical initiatives and relationships and work with the team to lay out short and long‑term plans to achieve appropriate relationship levels for the account or assigned category business unit. Allocate resources at the account level or within assigned category business unit. Develop strong supplier relationships by obtaining alignment and delivering on mutually established goals. Attract, develop and retain key talent to enable collective goals of the customer and the enterprise. Assure succession plans are in place for critical roles. Motivate, direct and inspire team members to deliver on agreed metrics of customers and suppliers in conjunction with needed resources across the enterprise. Identify expected levels of decision‑making and risk‑taking for team members. Execute new strategic initiatives for the account or the assigned categories. Support and provide guidance with customer issues relating to cost/value. Foster thought leadership within the account team. Demonstrate understanding of the private brand landscape, best practices, and current customer positions. Direct, delegate and empower staff effectively. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; MBA or graduate degree preferred. 3 to 5 years of professional experience in building and nurturing brands; private brand management a plus. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams. Ability to contribute to setting and achieving budgets. Strong grasp of product development, marketing, retail, category management, and logistics. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook, and web browsers. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Conflict management skills. Decision‑making skills. Strong prioritizing skills. Excellent customer service skills. Track record of building and maintaining customer/client relationships. Ability to visualize and plan objectives and goals strategically. Experience & Education Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience.
