Role Description The Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Grand Rapids, MI, supporting the Store Manager in daily store operations. This role helps lead the store team by modeling excellent customer service, coaching associates, and maintaining a welcoming, inclusive environment for shoppers. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising cash handling and opening/closing procedures, monitoring sales floor standards, and assisting with merchandising, signage, and product placement. The Assistant Manager also helps manage staffing needs, schedules, and training, while ensuring compliance with company policies and operational guidelines. This position contributes to meeting sales goals, controlling shrink, and upholding Spirit Halloween’s brand standards and safety practices. Qualifications Previous retail or customer service experience, with exposure to supervising or leading teams in a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop diverse team members. Solid organizational and time management abilities, including managing priorities, schedules, and daily store tasks. Comfort with point-of-sale systems, cash handling, and basic computer skills for reporting and communication. Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written, for engaging customers and supporting staff. Ability to work on-site in Grand Rapids, MI, with a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or retail management experience is a plus.
