Psychologist 9 - Intern

Job Description As a psychologist in the Department of Psychology at Hawthorn Center, the duties include psychotherapy (individual, group, and family) for children, adolescents, and their families; comprehensive psychological evaluations and development of treatment/interventions; behavior consultation to staff; development of behavioral treatment plans; and active functioning within a multidisciplinary team setting. Qualifications Master’s degree in psychology. Professional experience: Psychologist 9, Psychologist 10, or Psychologist P11 (see brief requirements). Licensing: possession of a temporary master’s limited license, master’s limited license, doctoral limited license, or full license to practice psychology in Michigan. Candidate will be subject to pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable-suspicion, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing. Successful completion of a background investigation and a criminal record check. Assignment Details Candidates with start dates on or after 08/01/2026 will train at the Southeast Michigan Psychiatric Hospital (SMPH) in Northville. Upon completion, they may work at the Walter Reuther Psychiatric Hospital (WRPH) until their classification moves from WRPH to SMPH.
